I get asked this question a lot, so I decided to make this to help guide you in the right direction. ( Please note that I still welcome personalized questions, and that the statements made here are simply my opinion, not facts ;)
Pick a color "pop" to work around. Meaning that if you have a family of 5 only maybe two of you would be accessorizing with this color. The other colors should be neutral and try and coordinate with the season, and if possible, location.
The days of "matchy, matchy" are GONE....LONG GONE. Don't have everyone in white shirts with khaki pants. They goal is to coordinate but not match.
LAYERS! I love layers! When weather permits wearing a cute jacket over-top any shirt or blouse will do wonders for the look and diversity of the photo! Bringing your personality into the photos is key!
I also have this motto, not only for photography but for shopping in general and I think the same applies to this subject: 'If you don't love it, don't buy it.' So same concept for being photographed... If you don't absolutely love how you look in it, choose something that will make you feel more confident!
Below are some of my beautiful clients and their great outfit choices!
